AI Image Upscaling: Sharpen Small Photos for Print

Este artigo está em inglês.
Visão geral
Enlarge small or blurry images 2× or 4× with AI and keep them sharp. Which model to choose, and how upscaling helps printing, laser engraving and vectorizing.
Stretching a small image in a normal editor just makes the pixels bigger, so edges turn soft and blocky. An AI upscaler rebuilds detail as it enlarges: it predicts what the sharper version should look like, so edges stay crisp and textures stay natural.
Choose the right model
- Photo for people, pets, places and products. Turn on face fix for portraits.
- Art for illustrations, paintings and digital art, where it keeps brush strokes and flat areas clean.
- Text & logos for graphics with hard edges and flat colours, without soft halos.
Pick 2× or 4× and set how much noise to remove. Results go up to 4096 px on the longest side.
When upscaling helps
- Printing: posters, canvases and stickers need about 300 pixels per inch. Upscaling turns a web image into a printable one.
- Laser engraving: more real detail gives the dithering something to reproduce.
- Vectorizing: a larger, cleaner source gives the Vectorizer smoother curves and fewer stray nodes.
- Print on demand: many shops ask for a minimum size; upscaling gets you there without visible blur.
Tips
- Upscale first, then edit. Background removal and tracing both work better on the bigger image.
- On a very small image, 4× can look painted. Try 2× and compare.
- Keep noise reduction low for photos with fine texture such as wood grain or fabric.
Limits
An upscaler can only predict detail from what is there. It cannot bring back text or faces that are completely unreadable. For artwork that needs to be any size, vectorize it instead: an SVG scales without limit.
Each image costs 1 credit. Uploads are deleted automatically after two days and are never used for training.
