Questions about converting images to SVG

Is the vectorizer free?

You can upload and preview results for free. Paid plans include unlimited vectorizing of black and white images and colour illustrations, a monthly allowance of colour photos, and watermark-free downloads.

Is it a real vector or just an image inside an SVG?

A real vector. The result is made of closed paths and fills, not an embedded picture, so it scales to any size and works on cutting machines and lasers.

Which image gives the best result?

A sharp image with clear edges and at least 500 px on the short side. For small or blurry images, run them through the AI upscaler first.

Can I convert a photo to SVG?

Yes. Colour photo mode rebuilds the photo from colour layers. For an engraving-style result from a photo, try the Pencil Sketch style in the AI SVG Studio.

What happens to my uploads?

Your files are private. They are used only to make your result and are deleted automatically after 2 days. Nothing is shown publicly unless you share it.

Can I use the SVG with Cricut Design Space?

Yes. Upload the SVG in Design Space and it arrives as separate, cuttable layers. Black & White mode gives a single layer, which is perfect for vinyl.
